Ex-Tech Plastics began in 1982 with the vision to provide a service to custom thermoformed package processors by taking their scrap PVC and converting it to usable sheet for thermoformed packaging. At that time, thermoformers were giving away their PVC scrap or were paying to have it discarded, where it often ended up in a landfill. One of the founders of Ex-Tech, John Endrud, had the idea that he could take a negative asset and turn it into a profitable product for Ex-Tech and its customers.
Starting as a one-machine operation in a 20,000 sq. ft. building in Richmond, Illinois, Ex-Tech originally produced only 100% reprocessed, rigid PVC sheet for the thermoforming market utilizing the recycled materials collected from customers.
Today Ex-Tech resides in a 100,000 sq. ft. building, with seven extrusion lines and over 60 employees. We are constantly adapting to our customer’s needs, and shifts in the market to become more sustainable. Our product offering includes six different material types, as well as countless variations on coatings, colors and sizes. Now we are able to provide our customers with a broad array of solutions.
